OCTA is seeking a skilled Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment across agency facilities. This role supports both routine and high-voltage (277–480 VAC and up to 1000 VDC) work while ensuring compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and operational requirements.

The salary for this position is:

$34.84- Starting rate per hour

$37.08- After completion of six (6) months

$48.32- Top rate after thirty six (36) months

The position will remain open until a candidate is selected.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical devices and distribution systems, including lighting, power circuits, motors, controls, life safety systems, relays, breakers, and irrigation controls

  • Inspect and repair backup generators, UPS systems, and auxiliary equipment

  • Cut, bend, and install conduit and pull conductors

  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, ladder diagrams, and blueprints

  • Guide and train Facilities Technicians

  • Perform maintenance on burner assemblies and related equipment

  • Safely use ladders, aerial lifts, staging, light towers, and PPE

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair fueling systems, electrical systems up to 480V, plumbing, and facility equipment

  • Oversee contractor work for quality and compliance

  • Maintain logs, reports, permits, certifications, and regulatory documentation

  • Support special projects including welding, painting, construction, and facility upgrades

  • Evaluate and repair facility safety and testing systems
