Group Counselor I – Extra Help (Part-Time)
Job Description:
The Group Counselor I – Extra Help position is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and supervision of detainees within a juvenile detention facility. Duties include supervising detainees, maintaining living unit standards in accordance with Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) regulations, conducting searches, processing admissions and releases, and applying approved physical or mechanical restraint techniques when necessary. The position also assists with rehabilitative programming, encourages positive behavior change, and helps plan and supervise recreational and leisure activities that support detainee development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university
- Valid California Driver's License
- No felony convictions
- Ability to pass all required background and pre-employment screenings

Pay Range:
$44.81 per hour (Part-Time Extra Help)
