How You’ll Make an Impact   

  • Resolve customer inquiries and troubleshoot Video, Internet and Streaming issues using Spectrum’s diagnostic tools
  • Manage account activation, maintenance and billing concerns through thoughtful phone support
  • Recommend upgrades and solutions based on customer needs to enhance product value
  • Process orders and navigate account management systems for new sales and account updates
  • Facilitate escalations and determine if field visits are needed for complex issues
  • Contribute ideas to improve the customer experience and build long-term relationships
  • Consistently achieve sales activity goals and maintain current knowledge of Spectrum product offerings

Education   

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience   

  • Customer service and sales or retention experience

Skills   

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Knowledge of Spectrum products and troubleshooting for Video, Internet and Voice repair
  • Proficiency in billing systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Complex problem solving abilities
  • Quick thinking, goal orientation, ambition and determination

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Produce magazine-style news stories ranging from 4 to 6 minutes for digital, linear and social platforms
  • Report, write and develop original content, focusing on deeper narratives and community issues
  • Shoot and edit video segments to create visually compelling, high-quality stories
  • Conduct interviews and gather information, ensuring accuracy and credibility in each feature
  • Collaborate with producers and editors to refine story ideas, structure and delivery
  • Adapt reporting and production techniques to maximize engagement across multiple platforms
  • Manage deadlines and multiple assignments, responding efficiently to evolving news priorities

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Television news reporting - 3+ years
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field; or comparable television work experience
  • Technical Skills: Ability to shoot videos, understanding of video editing software, and utilize social media effectively
  • Skills: Ability to communicate effectively on camera and through writing and verbal expression
  • Abilities: An innate curiosity and a sense of urgency when it comes to creating compelling stories, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds
  • Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
  • Schedule: Ability to work under time pressure deadlines and willing and able to work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies, ability work weekends and holidays
  • Valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a 24-hour news channel

 

Working Conditions

  • Work inside in a climate-controlled environment and outside throughout the year and may be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions

The base pay for this position generally is between $81,000.00 and $148,500.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
