Definition Under close supervision, and in accordance with guidelines and procedures, assists regular staff in the supervision, custodial care and limited counseling of a group of youth or adults placed under the jurisdiction of the Chief Probation Officer. Staff assignments are limited to the Juvenile Detention Facility. Distinguishing Characteristics This class is defined as an extra help class, and will only be used to provide temporary replacements for regular Juvenile Detention Facility staff who are absent due to vacation, sick leave, military duty, leave without pay, or other reasons.
