ABOUT THE POSITION The Riverside County Department of Animal Services has a current opportunity for an Animal Services Counselor in the Shelter Services Division at the San Jacinto Animal Campus. In addition, a list of eligible candidates may be established to fill current and future Animal Services Counselor vacancies throughout Riverside County as they become available. The selected candidate's primary focus will be on animal outcomes, including adoptions and rescue placements. Duties include supporting adoption efforts, coordinating with rescue partners, and building and maintaining collaborative relationships with animal rescue organizations to help place animals into appropriate homes. Competitive candidates will possess prior experience working in an animal shelter, animal services, veterinary, or other animal care setting.
