ABOUT THE POSITION                                The County of Riverside's Human Resources Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) is seeking a Temporary Animal Care Technician for the San Jacinto facility. Applicants with previous experience working with animals are preferred. Under general supervision, this entry-level role performs daily tasks to maintain sanitary conditions at animal shelters and off-site events, feeds and cares for impounded animals, assists with adoptions and reunifications, and counsels the public on responsible pet ownership and animal retention. Animal Care Technicians also receive training and certification in animal care, customer service, animal handling, humane euthanasia and animal disposal, and facility and equipment maintenance. ABOUT THE POSITION The Riverside County Department of Animal Services has a current opportunity for an Animal Services Counselor in the Shelter Services Division at the San Jacinto Animal Campus. In addition, a list of eligible candidates may be established to fill current and future Animal Services Counselor vacancies throughout Riverside County as they become available. The selected candidate's primary focus will be on animal outcomes, including adoptions and rescue placements.
