ABOUT THE POSITION The County of Riverside’s Flood Control and Water Conservation District has an opportunity for a Truck Mechanic who will be assigned to the Operations Division in Riverside. The Truck Mechanic will inspect and diagnose mechanical failures and defects in a variety of heavy-duty trucks (including CNG, diesel, and gasoline platforms), cars, and light trucks. Other responsibilities will include: correcting complex malfunctions by repairing and overhauling faulty major components, rebuilding or repairing engines, transmissions, differentials, clutches, axles, steering gears, carburetors, cooling systems, and other mechanical and electrical assemblies; completing tune-ups on all induction types, and ignition systems; replacing and adjusting air, hydraulic and vacuum brakes, starters, and generators; And repairing smaller automotive equipment when required.
