This examination is being given to fill vacancies in the San Joaquin County Probation Department and to establish an eligible list which may be used to fill future vacancies.  The Juvenile Detention Facility is a 24-hour operation.  These positions require working rotating shifts which will include weekends and holidays, as well as working overtime.  The shifts are:  6:00 am - 6:00 pm; 9:00 am - 9:00 pm; and 6:00 pm - 6:00 am.  Pre-Employment Physical, Drug Screen and Background : Potential new hires into this classification are required to successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination, a pre-employment drug screen and a background investigation as a condition of employment. THIS IS A NEW CONTINUOUS EXAMINATION.   The eligible list resulting from this examination will cancel any existing list and may last approximately one year, but can be extended.  This examination may be reopened as necessary and the names of additional candidates merged onto the existing list according to examination score.
