At NorthBay Health the Armed Security Officer is responsible for promoting a safe healthcare environment by serving as a deterrent to violent behavior and/or criminal activity through their presence and ability to respond to an incident that poses a serious threat of death or great bodily injury. The Armed Security Officer is primarily assigned to the Emergency Department and associated waiting areas. At NorthBay Health the Uniformed Security Officer is responsible for promoting a safe healthcare environment by serving as a deterrent to criminal activity or behavior that violates NBHC policy. In general, Security Officers will be primarily assigned to NorthBay campuses to conduct rounds, provides escorts, assume fixed posts, open and secure entryways and exits and perform other duties as assigned. Their security and safety responsibilities extend to all medical facilities owned and/or operated by NorthBay HealthCare and individual assignments or responsibilities may be dependent on the activity, need for assistance or direction of the Security Director.
