Essential Duties Work safely and efficiently while being careful to follow all safety requirements as determined by management. Work independently and to analyze and recommend repair procedures for equipment failures and must demonstrate mechanical insight in recommending options. Troubleshoot equipment failures or breakdowns on all equipment. Understand how to start up and shut down production equipment. Identify equipment parts as needed. Be efficient re-knifing all types of plant product cutting cylinders. Complete work orders as assigned by Supervisor. Recommend corrective action to solve mechanical issues on the production lines. Job Summary The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for working with and managing the Maintenance Department, preventive maintenance, machine modifications and general ground maintenance, as well as reviewing information and making strategic decisions to improve machine uptime, and reduce expenses, downtime and overtime. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. Essential Duties:   Employee management of the Plant Maintenance Department personnel, consisting of: • Interviewing, hiring, and training new employees in compliance with company guidelines, federal and state governmental laws, and regulations. • Providing timely performance coaching and counseling in the form of daily verbal feedback, annual written performance evaluations, frequent positive encouragement and recognition, and documented disciplinary actions, as necessary. • Managing employee vacation/time-off requests to ensure employees’ compliance with company...
