This recruitment is for Correctional Deputy level I and level II (Lateral). Employees in these classifications receive 7.5% Detention Premium Pay in addition to their base salary.  This classification is scheduled to receive a 5% COLA effective July 2026. Correctional Deputy I :  The salary range, effective July 5, 202,5 is $2,394.40 - $3,208.80 biweekly ($29.93 - $40.11 per hour). Correctional Deputy II :  The salary range, effective July 5, 2025, is $2,516.80 - $3,372.00 biweekly ($31.46 - $42.15 per hour). Description The County of Mono is now hiring to fill a vacant Deputy Sheriff position. The vacant position will be Lateral hire, starting as a Deputy Sheriff I/II. Under supervision, to perform law enforcement, crime prevention, and crime detection activities; to occasionally guard and supervise inmates in County Jail facilities; to act as a bailiff; may be assigned operations supervision. May be assigned to work as an undercover narcotics officer; may be assigned to train new deputy sheriffs; perform Coroner’s investigations/duties and do related work as required.  This class is the journey-level sworn class in the Sheriff’s series.
