Substitute Food Service Worker An ESS substitute food service worker supports the preparation and service of meals to students in a clean, safe, and efficient school nutrition environment. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and serve food in accordance with district menus and portion guidelines • Serve students efficiently during high-volume meal service periods • Operate the district Point-of-Sale (POS) system to record student meals in compliance with federal meal accountability requirements.
