Job Description

The Citrus Club at PGA WEST is a private 18 hole facility designed by Pete Dye.  As part of the PGA WEST family, our Members have access to up to 9 championship golf courses (5 Resort / 4 Private) and 5 beautiful clubhouses.  We are looking for an Assistant Golf Professional to join our amazing team here at The Citrus Club.  This would be a Full-Time/Seasonal position that would run tentatively from Late October - May (can work on timing if needed) . 
The Assistant Golf Professional assists the Director of Golf and golf shop team in all aspects of course operations including pro-shop operations, tournaments, customer service, and managing tee times.
This individual will be the point of contact for the weekly Women's 9 Hole Group throughout the season.  The group is very fun and energetic, and this experience would be great to build tournament experience as well as quickly develop Member relations.      
  • Responsible for display of pro-shop merchandise and appearance of pro-shop.
  • Responsible for operation of cash register and sales reports.
  • Participates in meetings.
  • To work with the Director of Golf and golf shop team keeping them aware of all particulars involved in conducting a smooth and rewarding golf experience.
  • Preparing appropriate rules sheets for the event following USGA guidelines and local rules.
  • Performs other duties as required.

-Playing / Practicing Privileges here at The Citrus Club (as well as the other PGA WEST courses based on availability).

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in the PGA Program or currently a PGA Member is a plus.
  • Ability to work well with team members and other departments.
  • Knowledge of golf course operations, teaching skills and scheduling.
  • Previous experience planning and coordinating golf events.
  • Must be fiscally responsible and able to accurately execute and maintain financial transactions and records.
  • Must have skill to exercise good independent judgement in assessing situations and making decisions.
  • Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in Word, Excel, Golf Genius, and other software programs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow staff members and the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • Ability to work unsupervised at times as well as being able to work as part of a team.

  • Minimum one-year experience golf shop operations or similar work.
  • Retail sales experience a plus.
  • Valid motor vehicle license.
