Bobby uses his skills as a graduate of the Total Army Instructor Training Course to instruct Guard Card classes which requires and enables him to keep abreast of the current laws and trends in the security field.

 

As a former Recruiter for the U.S. Army, he understands the needs of our clients and works with them to ensure customer satisfaction. 

Golden Bay Security Services (GBSS) is a veteran owned and operated company founded in 2016 to provide quality yet affordable security services. 


Though a relative newcomer to the business, GBSS has provided security to large industrial complexes, the Mare Island business community and Paramount Studios.

The founder, Bobby Whitaker, is a retired U.S. Army Military Policeman and experienced law enforcement officer.  As an Afganistan War veteran and U.S. Army Physical Security senior noncommissioned officer, Bobby instills the importance of vigilance and a proactive presence to provide peace of mind and security to our clients.

Golden Bay Security Services (GBSS) is seeking to fill part-time positions for Security Officer 1. The Security Officer 1 position is an entry-level position within Golden Bay Security Services (GBSS) who works under the direct supervision of a Field Operations Manager.  GBSS provides or has provided security for light and heavy industrial complexes, commercial facilities, United States government contractors as well as private events.  Main Responsibilities Specific Duties and Essential Functions • Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards • Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities • Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner The Ideal Candidate Education, Licenses and Certifications Required • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing • Pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle Skills Required • Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment • Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public • Effective oral and written communication skills • Active listening skills • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately • Attention to detail Other • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the State • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States • Must have access to reliable transportation • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD 214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military Physical Requirements and Environment Drug Screening: Golden Bay Security Services is a drug free work environment. Employees hired as armed guards must pass a mandatory drug screening. All others are subject to random drug screening. Those with negative results must be prepared to present a valid medical prescription. Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to very cold and heat. Employees can expect to be exposed to rain and other weather conditions. Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing, reporting.
