Position Description Engineering inspector I is the entry level class in the Engineering Inspector series. Working under supervision, an incumbent inspects contract work performed by various trades and crafts engaged in the construction of municipal facilities such as streets, buildings, parking lots, bridges, culverts, sanitary sewer systems, lift stations, storm drainage systems, water main systems, irrigation canals, pipelines, street lighting and traffic signals, An Engineering Inspector I, after a minimum of a one (1) year of employment, and at the recommendation of the appointing authority, may be promoted to Engineering Inspector II.
