The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is led by Bill Brown, the elected Sheriff-Coroner. The Sheriff’s Office provides our communities with a wide variety of services, including law enforcement, corrections, court services, Search & Rescue, and the Coroner function. The agency employs 459 sworn officers and 169 civilian personnel.

Santa Barbara County is a service-oriented organization that functions with a workforce of approximately 4,000 employees and an annual budget of nearly $900 million.
