GVS Security Services
Our upscale security guards are hired to protect the company’s property. The Security Guard is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect which include cannabis retail locations. They act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions, as well as detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts, which may be a threat to the property, clients or employees at the site.

Core Responsibilities
- Patrolling and monitoring activities on the company's premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure
- Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over
- Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles according to protocols
- Monitoring surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities
- Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management
- Testing security systems
- Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner
- Performing CPR or first aid when needed
Desired Competencies
- Prior Military, Law Enforcement, or First Responder experience is highly valued
- Excellent knowledge of security protocols
- Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Ability to solve problems as they arise
- Attention to detail
- Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- California Guard Card OR in the process of receiving
- CPR, First Aid and AED preferred
- Employment is union based
- Additional Background, Drug screening, or Live Scan May be Applicable for Employment
Position type:
This position requires weekend availability. Whether it is full time or part time.
Working Conditions
This is a stationary standing post. Expect to be on your feet for eight hours per day.'
