Berkeley Food and Housing Project

For more than 50 years, Berkeley Food & Housing Project (BFHP) has provided a comprehensive range of housing, food, and support services to help those in need move from homelessness into a safe and affordable home of their own. We accomplish our work in partnership with the City of Berkeley, other government agencies, and a robust network of local service providers. Our many volunteers offer their time, energy and talents. Vital financial support is derived from a mix of public funding, individual giving, private foundations and corporate charitable contributions.  BFHP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our Federal tax identification number is 94-2979073

Mission

Our mission is to ease and end the crisis of homelessness in our communities.

Action

We live out our mission by providing emergency food and shelter, transitional housing, rapid rehousing and permanent supportive housing with support services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Vision

We envision communities were everyone has access to affordable housing; as it is a fundamental human right and we are committed to serving one of the most vulnerable populations in our community with fairness and equity.

Values

At BFHP, our core values are diversity, equality, and inclusion.
