San Diego Employment Solutions provides opportunities to help adults with serious mental illness diagnoses obtain competitive employment utilizing a comprehensive evidence-based supported employment approach that is community-based, client- and family-driven, and culturally competent. This program utilizes the Supported Employment Individualized Placement and Support Model to assist active job seekers with their job search and placement, including apprenticeships and starting their own business with the goal of competitive employment. SDES provides supported services with a rehabilitation focus to adults who meet eligibility criteria, utilizing biopsychosocial rehabilitation principles that are in accordance with San Diego County Behavioral Health Services (BHS) policy in the areas of co-occurring disorders, youth transition, older adults and cultural competence. Services are coordinated and integrated with BHS Behavioral Health Providers, other Mental/Physical Health Providers, Family Resource Centers, Live Well San Diego partners, and other organizations and groups serving clients with mental health needs. Our services are provided in our MHS offices, and in the community throughout the county of San Diego.
