About CPPA
In November of 2020, California voters approved Proposition 24, the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA). The CPRA added new privacy protections to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018.
The California Privacy Rights Act established a new agency, the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) to implement and enforce the law. The CPPA is governed by a five–member Board. The Board Handbook outlines the board’s governing laws and internal policies.
The CPPA's 2024 Annual Report report provides a comprehensive look at the Agency's accomplishments from November 2020, when California voters passed Proposition 24 and established the CPPA, through December 2024.
