Northwest Valley Connect (NVC) needs both paid and volunteer drivers. As folks are beginning to get COVID vaccine and looking to resume a new “normal”, the demand for rides is growing. Northwest Valley Connect is a nonprofit organization which provides transportation for seniors, veterans and persons with disability. Drivers can use their own vehicles, or one provided by NVC. All positions are part time. Volunteer drivers have the flexibility to choose their own hours. Paid drivers work scheduled but sometimes variable hours. All drivers must pass background checks because they have direct contact with clients. They must also have a good driving record. Personal vehicles must carry insurance as required by the State of Arizona. NVC carries an umbrella liability policy. Vans provided by NVC have wheelchair lifts and wheelchairs are secured in place once inside the van. Drivers using vans are trained to drive the vans and to use the lifts. Safety is...

POSITION TITLE: Volunteer Driver – Assisted Transportation POSITION SUMMARY: Transports clients to appointments (medical, legal etc.). Provides door through door assistance. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provide safe, friendly door through door transportation to older adults and/or disabled clients as available.  Ensure all riders wear seat belt. Volunteer driver to set safety example.  Provide physical assistance as needed.
