Pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 25 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally, and assisting in the infrequent movement of weights of up to 83 pounds. Coupling air hoses. Uncoupling cars. Applying and releasing hand brakes. Riding rail cars and climbing onto equipment. Applying bilateral use of upper extremities when needed, such as maintaining a grip with both hands. Principal Duty Functions: The TAC Officer provides training, assessment and counseling to TAC companies under the direct supervision of the Commandant, Oakland Military Institute. a. Performs classroom instruction in military science and physical education. b. Counsels cadets in academic, personal, behavioral, college/career and social dimensions. c. Assesses cadet progress toward stated Institute goals. d. Models a professional command team for the cadets. e. Trains and coaches the cadet chain of command to establish and sustain high unit standards and behavior essential to a cohesive, well-disciplined and spirited company environment. f. Serves as mentor and guide to cadet commissioned officers and cadets entrusted to their care. g. Available for ESAD surge operations to assist State Personnel, Comptroller and the Joint Staff in the event of a state emergency. h. Performs a wide variety of other duties as assigned. 5.
