Essential Responsibilities (not limited to):
Perform as watch stander on a Navy live-fire training range. Configure and monitor Common Operating Picture (COP) displays. Duties include coordinating and managing a dynamic training schedule for Navy units, Natural Resources Office (NRO) personnel, and other designated agencies. Communicate via radio and telephone to airborne, land and sea-based units. Recognize and report potential safety issues. Communicate range management issues to Government Program Managers (PM) in a timely manner.
Coordinate entry and exit of personnel from live fire training ranges. Evaluate Surface Danger Zones (SDZs) to confirm the safe use of approved live munitions in designated range areas.
Maintain daily contact with military SCI staff personnel, visiting unit commanders, and contracting personnel who access training ranges.
Brief personnel on administrative, unexploded ordnance (UXO), NRO procedures on San Clemente Island (SCI).
Maintain a Fire Desk Log of critical events, including logging training units into and out of training areas, ensuring that required information is gathered, verified, and plotted.
If required, initiate Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
Coordinate public access to unscheduled SCI safety zones.

Essential Responsibilities (not limited to):
Perform as watch stander on a Navy live-fire training range. Configure and monitor Common Operating Picture (COP) displays. Duties include coordinating and managing a dynamic training schedule for Navy units, Natural Resources Office (NRO) personnel, and other designated agencies. Communicate via radio and telephone to airborne, land and sea-based units. Recognize and report potential safety issues. Communicate range management issues to Government Program Managers (PM) in a timely manner.
Coordinate entry and exit of personnel from live fire training ranges. Evaluate Surface Danger Zones (SDZs) to confirm the safe use of approved live munitions in designated range areas.
Maintain daily contact with military SCI staff personnel, visiting unit commanders, and contracting personnel who access training ranges.
Brief personnel on administrative, unexploded ordnance (UXO), NRO procedures on San Clemente Island (SCI).
Maintain a Fire Desk Log of critical events, including logging training units into and out of training areas, ensuring that required information is gathered, verified, and plotted.
If required, initiate Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
Coordinate public access to unscheduled SCI safety zones.
Qualification Requirements:
Four (4) years’ experience with military ground operations, to include small unit tactics, live fire operations, and combined arms.
Experience in reading maps and overlays.
Ability to quickly and efficiently communicate via radio, telephone and email.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Operates and maintains Windows, and Linux computers providing real time tracking solutions of instrumented naval craft in support of the Navy's Southern California Offshore Range.
Operates and maintains WAN/LAN network equipment, Timeplex equipment, Cisco equipment, HF/UHF/VHF Radios, and encryption devices.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Section Supervisor or Group Lead Technician.
Operates real-time Red Hat tracking computers.
Maintains HF, VHF, UHF radios and in-water telephone communication systems.

Operates and maintains various score tracking systems including LATR, PCCU, Intuicom, Iridium, AIS, IFF and in-water tracking system.
