THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED INDEFINITE POSITION Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered The primary purpose of the AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-6652-10, is to provide on- and/or off-equipment troubleshooting and repair capability of the weapons release and gun systems, and to verify and analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot, test, inspect, and to load and unload conventional munitions, install/remove weapons delivery equipment, launchers, and gun systems.
Non-DMOS/DAFSC applicants are encouraged to apply for the positions if experience is held. A two year compatibility waiver MAY be obtained.
Qualifications
General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components. Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications and engineering drawings. Experience which demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks. AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-6652-10: Must have 18 months experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems. Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment. Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment. Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.
