The Laborer relocates, assembles, and dismantles furnishings, equipment, materials, supplies, temporary structures, and stages for classes, meetings, special campus events or maintenance jobs. Performs loading, transportation, and unloading of trucks and other vehicles. Operates, cleans, and maintains tools and equipment. This position assists the UCR Transfer Station by emptying refuse and recycle bins, sweeping the area surrounding the bins, and removing litter. May assist other Facilities Services units with general housekeeping or tasks based on operational needs. The full salary range is $18.90 - $25.93 per hour. Please note, that we base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. |

Moving & Relocation Services: Assembles and relocates general furnishings. Delivers, sets-up, and dismantles furniture, lab and office equipment, materials, and supplies. Provides set-up and removal of tables, chairs, staging, podiums, stanchions, and flags for classes, conventions, meetings, and conferences. Performs tear down and removal of various structures/set ups. Assists with moving and storing equipment, tools, furniture, and other materials. Operates forklifts, compactors, scales and other power tools such as power screwdrivers and drills. Cleans and maintains tools and equipment. Performs loading and unloading of trucks and other vehicles. Assists truck drivers in entering and exiting areas where potential hazards are present and/or limited space may be a concern. Support To Other Facilities Services Teams: Clean areas, removing debris and refuse from worksites, shop areas or vehicles. Assist skilled and semi-skilled trade workers by hauling, carrying, holding, and lifting materials and equipment. Performs routine custodial services for campus, as needed. Performs general clean-up services when needed before and after conferences, meetings, and special event set-ups based on department and/or campus needs. Refuse & Recycling Support: Provides necessary support to UCR Transfer Station. Moves dumpsters from recycle truck/trailer weigh units and empties dumpsters into appropriate compactor or open roll-off container to be hauled away. Replaces damaged bins as needed. Places and services bins for special events. Assists other collection workers when dumpsters or interior bins are too heavy for one person to maneuver safely. Maintains area surrounding bins by sweeping and removing litter, and wash food collection area periodically. Skilled & Semi-skilled Trade Support: May dig and/or fill ditches, trenches, and other excavations for pipelines, walks, roads, and walls.
