Set up and operate machinery using hand tools as necessary.
Review engineering drawings and work orders.
Production of various parts in a safe manner while focusing on quality and specification requirements.
Work with aluminum extrusions, sheet metal, steel, and polycarbonate materials.
Complete work orders and ERP entries where required.
Stage raw materials.
Take measurements and mark material for cutting or processing.
Work with Quality to keep record and report defective or nonconforming parts.
Take initiative to perform preventative maintenance.
Participate in assuring tooling, gages and supplies are accounted for & are in good working order.
Perform machine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
Participate with team in continuous improvement efforts.
Perform shop floor housekeeping duties.
Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of machine operator tasks as needed.
Perform other tasks as needed in support of production team and team supervisors.
Work in a safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of the machinist and other team members.
Required to perform first article inspections and correct any discrepancies between part measurements and print requirements.
Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Good reading and math skills.
Good computer aptitude.
Must be able to safely use small hand and power tools.
Demonstrated ability to read and follow work instructions, process instructions, and engineering standards, use basic measuring instruments and hand tools, effectively communicate and interact with others.
Ability to access and use computer systems (e.g. email, work instructions, attendance). Must have the ability to operate a variety of machinery.
