Sanitation District Public Affairs Manager

Exam # 29457-18-O

Approximate Monthly Salary: $8,860.08 - $9,768.36

DESCRIPTION

There is an additional 3.35% Management Differential which is added to the posted salary for this class.

Under general direction, the Sanitation District Public Affairs Manager directs, manages, and supervises the activities and operations of the Public Affairs Office of the Sanitation Districts Agency including public affairs and relations/communications and strategy; community outreach, education and involvement; customer service; and media relations; and coordinates these assigned activities with other County of Sacramento offices and departments, with the other city and county jurisdictions serviced by the Sanitation Districts Agency, and with a full range of external stakeholders and organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Either: 1a. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in communications, public relations, public or business administration, journalism, English, or a closely related field;

AND

1b. One year of full-time, paid experience employed by the County of Sacramento in the class of Communication and Media Officer III.

Or: 2a. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in communications, public relations, public or business administration, journalism, English, or a closely related field;

AND

2b. Two years of full-time, paid experience employed by the County of Sacramento in the class of Communication and Media Officer II.

Or: 3a. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in communications, public relations, public or business administration, journalism, English, or a closely related field;

AND

3b. Four years of full-time, paid experience managing a comprehensive communication program that included responsibility for program development and implementation and extensive liaison responsibilities with representatives from the community and public and private sectors.
