Job Description

NorCal Kenworth in San Leandro is currently seeking a Rental Manager.

Base salary of 35,000-40,000 DOE, plus monthly commission/incentives.

Essential Position Functions and Principal Accountabilities

  • Perform and Collect Daily Lot Checks from all locations and compile Master Lot Check, first priority of each business day
  • Send Master Lot Check to PacLease staff daily
  • Reconcile Lot Checks with current rental contracts daily.
  • Interact with Service teams to minimize downtime for vehicle repairs daily
  • Manage internal fleet moves between locations
  • Complete daily utilization reports
  • Work with Sales Team to prioritize rental requests
  • Market research to maintain competitive rental rates per season
  • Maintain relationships with Key Rental Accounts
  • Review and assist aging and collections
  • Manage Rental fleet life cycle and work GM on new orders
  • Set up new customers
  • Credit applications
  • Secure insurance on all new rental accounts to NorCal standards
  • Collect driver information
  • Create Rental Agreements and coordinate check out/check in with all locations
  • Manage and maintain damage log of all vehicles using complete vehicle inspections from check outs/check ins
  • Coordinate repairs, washes, and fleet readiness with staff

Marketing the Rental Fleet

  • Prospecting – Cold Calls, average 15/week
  • Mailers, average 25/week
  • Telemarketing calls, average 25/week
  • Customer Appointments, average 3/week

Position Requirements

  • Hands-on expertise in sales, cold-calling, time management
  • Basic Computer Knowledge
  • Basic Accounting
  • Strong communication skills in order to work with customers and staff
  • Often may have to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends to achieve goals
  • College degree or equivalent is preferred
