Northern CA Resources Business Group Manager Primary Responsibilities HDR is currently seeking a Resources Business Group (RBG) Manager to grow and manage our Resources (power/energy, solid waste, oil and gas, industrial, mining) work in Northern California with private and public agency clients. Reporting to the Northern California Area Manager, the primary responsibilities of this position is to manage the Resources Business Group in Northern California and work with HDR’s National and regional Client Development Leaders, Client Managers and other Northern California Business Group Managers (Transportation, Water, Federal, CCC) to drive overall growth and profitability of HDR’s RBG practice in the Northern California. The position provides oversight of all RBG project delivery, client management, growth and profitability, quality control, marketing strategy, staff development, and hiring of new staff.  This includes oversight and management of multi-discipline environmental and engineering teams covering activities including environmental review, environmental analysis, FERC relicensing, planning, schematic design development, development of construction documents, and installation and construction support to support large, medium, and small scale projects related to the RBG market sectors.  The candidate should bring established private and public agency client relationships in California, show a track record of developing and enhancing client relationships in their past experience, and be familiar with the complete life cycle of project delivery including marketing, proposal development, negotiations, contract development, design, installation and construction.  Additional responsibilities include supervising and mentoring staff; coordinating staff assignment and workload projections; coordinating with other Northern California Business Group Managers; managing project controllers and project coordinators for project set up, invoicing and reviews; implementing QA/QC procedures; and ensuring all annual performance metrics are met including sales, earnings, profitability, and utilization of staff.   Qualifications  

Required Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or Science, or related discipline required. • Professional registration as Engineer or Architect a plus. • 10 or more years of project management experience • Knowledge of regulatory processes and project delivery phases including environmental reviews, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closure is required. • Ability to market services and develop strong client relationships. • Must exhibit a high degree of emotional intelligence, well developed situational leadership skills, and the ability to interact with various design teams and disciplines.  • Must have excellent organizational, project management, and written and verbal communication skills.
