Must be able to manufacture complex and non-routine parts and items of equipment from raw stock of different metals and metal alloys through the use of conventional machine tools such as lathes, grinders, mills, and powered machine tools.  This position is expected to be able to solve problems and exercise a high degree of ingenuity and responsibility.  Possess practical knowledge of mechanical equipment, structures and metals; laying out, cutting and shaping metal parts; and positioning, alignment, and securing of parts and subassemblies.  Performs layout, fabrication, assembly, installation operation, maintenance, modification and testing of mechanical components, apparatus and equipment.  CNC Machinist will set up and operates equipment, test apparatus, test equipment, diagnostic devices and related equipment.  In addition, will devises, fabricates and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies.  Records test procedures and results, performs routine analysis and calculations; and makes recommendations for changes in equipment, product or test methods. Minimum of Five Years experience in Auxiliary systems, including HM&E system repair, installation, modification, and testing of Navy equipment or systems.
