Carpenters perform various skilled carpentry tasks for county facilities involving construction, installation, and repair of wooden structures and fixtures using a wide variety of hand and power tools and heavy equipment. Carpenters are responsible for designing, planning and estimating, fabricating, installing and repairing finish carpentry systems and structural rough frame carpentry.
Incumbents will have journey-level experience independently performing the full range of carpentry duties and related job set up work. Duties may include:
Site measures, estimates material takeoffs and prepares orders for supplies and equipment.
Constructing, repairing, and maintaining rough frame wood and light steel stud structures and tenant improvements, including floors, walls, roofs, stairs, decks, ramps, fences and gates.
