Defenders is hiring INSTALL/SALES TECHNICIANS Training Provided
$15 per hour plus commissions.
On average, Sales Technicians are earning $70k-$80k a year The top 10% of Outside Sales Technicians are earning over $100k.
They have to call it a Sales role because they pay commissions on any additional "up sells' you do at the time of install.
Kind of like when the cable guy comes and installs your tv - they say if you add HBO now it will be free for 3 months or Do you want another box in the bedroom?
For this position someone from ADT (or Similar) already made the initial Sale - you are then sent out by Defenders to do the install and assess the property, question the customer for needs and desires then make additional recommendations. Any newly added products or services will earn you a commission.

In this position, you will install home security systems for residential home owners as well as help them select additional security and technology solutions for their needs and budget. This position uniquely combines system installation and outside sales to existing customers.
Each home you visit has already purchased a base security system install. No cold calling or lead generation necessary! Our Sales Technicians have a primary responsibility of further developing existing customer relationships with key local ADT home security accounts and installing their systems.

Landscape Plans Examiner I/II
The Transportation Department has an opportunity for a Landscape Plans Examiner I/II in Riverside. The Plans Examiner I/II will be responsible for landscape plan check and inspections, including the review and approval of construction and/or conceptual landscape plans. The incumbent will utilize Bluebeam software to provide clear and concise comments and corrections on documents as needed, ensure compliance with all applicable industry standards, State regulations and County ordinances, as well as prepare and maintain job inspection records, reports, logs and schedules. Competitive candidates will be well-versed in California friendly plant types specific to Riverside County's Water Use Classification of Landscape Species (WUCLOS) zones and have knowledge of irrigation materials and specific products required for the installation of new irrigation systems within residential and commercial applications. The Department desires candidates with experience using Bluebeam software, AutoCAD, Microstation, CADD and those in possession of a Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) certificate. Candidates coming in at the level II, must possess a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) issued by the Irrigation Association. Candidates coming in at the level I, must obtain the CLIA certification within six months of hire. The level at which the position will be filled is at the Department's discretion and based on candidate qualifications.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Transportation Department is responsible for planning, designing, funding, building, operating and maintaining all roads, bridges, and transportation facilities within the unincorporated County territory. The County covers an area of approximately 7300 square miles, which is about the size of the state of New Jersey. The County-Maintained Road System exceeds 2100 miles, which is about the distance between Riverside County and Washington D.C. This puts in context the challenges that the Department faces in providing service to over 2 million residents in Riverside County. They focus on their priorities of improving safety, maintaining existing roads and bridges, and enhancing roadway capacity to keep up with population growth.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Perform the review of the most difficult and complex landscape or irrigation plans and ensures compliance with appropriate codes, regulations, and ordinances. Maintain an up-to-date familiarity with the tools and products that are utilized in the creation of water conscious and low-water use landscapes. Provide technical assistance to and reviews difficult field situations with inspectors; perform periodic on-site technical and quality control inspections of difficult and complex landscape and irrigation projects. Ensure irrigation, plant species, and general landscape components are appropriate for projects and are in compliance with County and applicable state landscape and irrigation policies, regulations, and ordinances. Clarify and interpret codes and regulations to developers, contractors, the general public, and department staff. Prepare reports and correspondence; maintain job inspection records, daily logs, schedules, and project reports; assist in training new employees; attends continuing education classes as required.
LANDSCAPE PLANS EXAMINER I _______________________________________________________ Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, irrigation science, irrigation technology, or a closely related field to the assignment. (Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required education on the basis of one year of full-time experience equaling 30 semester or 45 quarter units of the required education.) Experience: One year of discipline-specific technical or professional plan check, plans design or inspection experience. Knowledge of: Plan check procedures and methods; the principles and practices of landscape architecture (California Code, Business and Professions Code - BPC § 5615), plant identification, irrigation design and construction, and plant maintenance; the principles of environmental enforcement inspection procedures and methods; state and local codes, regulations and ordinances applicable to landscape design and irrigation systems; permit tracking, labor entry and word processing software programs. Ability to: Perform complex irrigation and landscape plan review; accurately check plans and specifications; analyze, interpret, and accurately review water quality permits and best management practices; maintain cooperative working relations with others; prepare clear, concise, and complete reports, written correspondence and documentation; deal tactfully and effectively with developers, contractors and the general public; make accurate data entries and use automated plan checks and time labor information using a personal computer.
