Job Description Assist with Installs, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of telecommunications equipment. Provide reports, completes requests for new telecommunications service. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.

Provide administrative Video Teleconference (VTC) and telecommunications support to the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) customer.

-Provide Video Telecommunications (VTC) administration and on-call support for COMSEC / Courier / maintenance of encryption equipment for the classified VTC communications center.

-Provide limited Maintenance of a KIV-7M Data Encryption device, to include any subsequent COMSEC equipment. This would include, but not be limited to: on call (4-hour response-during duty hours) to requests for equipment swap out with a cold spare, printed circuit board removal replacement and / or re-strapping, and / or courier to and from the nearest authorized Crypto Repair Facility (CRF).

-Support the customer with land line telephones, elevator phone, and pager services, records and logs. Support includes ordering equipment, coordinating phone actions between FRCSW Facilities, Naval Computer Telecommunications Service (NCTS), NMCI, and requestors.

-Ensure efficient and effective operation of the VTC system, and shall schedule and set-up calls, troubleshoot equipment and calls, perform in-house backup diagnostics, display overlays and slides, operate peripheral devices (i.e., graphics computers, cameras, computer-driven videotape decks, computer-based software-controlled interfaces, etc.), and support miscellaneous client requirements prior to and during calls.

-Provide VTC / Phone Documentation Support. Create and/or maintain documentation on the day-to-day operations of the VTC/phone support, monitor and improve production procedures, receive and review presentation media, upgrade VTC equipment (when necessary), and maintain and revise lists and control records and be ready for any data calls at a moment’s notice.
Required Skills Active Secret clearance. Associate's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience. Security + Certification or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment. Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to obtain a National Security Agency (NSA) certification to courier and / or perform on an “as needed basis” to provide COMSEC support. Familiarity with the operation of a large-scale telecommunications transmission VTC center capable of digital electronic text, voice and / or video signals. Familiarity with the operation of the KIV-7M. Familiarity with control of classified cryptographic equipment and keying material. Ability to travel as necessary. This position supports a U.S. Government contract whose terms require that applicants possess U.S. Citizenship. Secret Clearance #Clearance
