The Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District is hiring an intern to work in the Air District's Mobile Source Section. The internship would provide students with an opportunity to work with Air District staff and their efforts to develop, implement, and analyze various state and local incentive programs that help reduce emissions from mobile sources.
Assist staff with mobile incentive program oversight, analyze air quality surveys and air quality reports, and prepare written documents and reports as necessary, assist staff in public outreach events, assist staff with program maintenance and general office duties as required.
Have a declared major in natural sciences, social sciences, interdisciplinary studies, environmental studies or possess the necessary knowledge and experience to successfully understand and perform the job duties. Strong writing, editing and document design skills. Strong research, analytical, oral and written communication skills. Organized, detail-oriented with attention to quality, ability to multi-task with strong time management skills and ability to work independently. The applicant should be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience in working with Disadvantage Communities and Multi-lingual is a plus.
Preferred Summer Hours: 30 - 40 hours per week
Preferred Hours During School Year: average 6-10 hours per week
