Job Description

TiVo is seeking an experienced Director of Software Development. In this role, you will grow and lead globally distributed software development teams rethinking the next generation of industry-leading IP content delivery. You will draw from your broad technical expertise as well as exceptional project management skills to manage and be responsible for delivering some of our most strategic projects, and building massive scale for TiVo and third-party clients. You will leverage your proven and demonstrated track record of building and deploying high-quality Web/Cloud services to allow TiVo to maintain competitive time to market positions. The ideal candidate will have experience with stream processing services such as Kafka, and technologies such as Kubernetes, and Container-based deployments, as well as experience of working in large-scale data environments that included real-time and batch processing requirements.

As a Director of Software Development for Provisioning and Platform systems, you will be a part of the larger technical leadership community within TiVo. Along with your peers, you will play a key role in business planning, working closely with executives to develop product goals and resource requirements, and influence TiVo’s long-term product strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Hands-on technical leadership will get you the most credits
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years of software engineering experience, 5+years of which must be in senior engineering management roles
  • At least ten years of hands-on software development experience in building highly scalable web services using Apache/Tomcat, XML/JSON, and relational databases. Candidates with knowledge and experience of Docker containers, K8, and data platforms such as Kafka will be preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and continuously compare deliverables against objectives
