This position is designed specifically for a veteran that has transitioned from the military within the past 12 months and has a 4 year degree. An exception will be made for veterans that transitioned longer than 12 months ago but  has recently graduated with a 4-year degree (within past 3 months), or  a veteran that has transitioned longer than 12 months ago and is about to graduate with a 4-year degree (in the next 1-3 months).

Job Description

The Veterans Fellowship Program is designed to foster a seamless transition for veterans from active duty to the civilian work environment by providing an excellent opportunity to gain practical work experience in our integrated aviation environment; duties assigned may vary widely depending on the department needs.

The one year fellowship provides an excellent opportunity for veterans with great initiative. Selected veterans will gain practical work experience in our integrated aviation environment. Our program offers an array of valuable growth opportunities:

  2. Heighten understanding of the aviation industry's diverse facets 

  3. Workshops with subject matter experts on: resume writing and interviewing skills, networking and building relationships, and corporate business practices. 

  4. Networking with the leadership team and fellow employees 

  5. Gaining perspective from team members who successfully transitioned from the military to the civilian workforce 

This role will performs a wide variety of technical and user support duties in the operation and administration of the Authority's project management system software.

Required Skills

Examples of duties:

  1. Prepare various internal and external financial analyses and reports for distribution to local government agencies.
  2. Define business process requirements analysis regarding implementation solutions that maximize efficiency and make the best use of people and technology
  3. Manage software security i.e. define user groups, roles, resources and user administration. 

Knowledge of:

  1. Data integration between disparate databases.
  2. Electronic workflow approvals, schedules and design specifications to track the roles and responsibilities of users and develop detailed desktop procedures.
  3. Data analytics based on SQL Server and Oracle databases to create and revise customized reports using Crystal Reports, SSRS and BOE - Universes -WEBI.  
  4. Experience in technical and user support duties in the selection, implementation, and customization and administration program management system software in support of Construction projects.
  5. Experience with SQL Server 2008/2012 to include maintenance of databases, perform backups, stored procedures, triggers, upgrades, user accounts, and data migration.
  6. Familiarity and ability to provide support/training/documentation for PMWeb, Meridian Prolog, or Contracts Manager.
  7. Familiar with Oracle E1 financials management system
  8. Knowledge of Experience with Microsoft Server/network familiarity.
  9. Knowledge of construction project management and financial controls

Required Experience

1. A minimum of three (3) years of active duty or mobilized reserve duty service.
2. Documentation of an honorable discharge(DD214) from active or reserve status within the last year*
3. Graduation from a four-year college or university.

*An exception will be made to the one year requirement listed above, for full-time students enrolled in a degree or certification program since honorable discharge; a transcript must be provided.
