Job Description

This position is designed specifically for a veteran that has transitioned from the military within the past 12 months and has a 4 year degree. An exception will be made for veterans that transitioned longer than 12 months ago but  has recently graduated with a 4-year degree (within past 3 months), or  a veteran that has transitioned longer than 12 months ago and is about to graduate with a 4-year degree (in the next 1-3 months).

Job Description

The Veterans Fellowship Program is designed to foster a seamless transition for veterans from active duty to the civilian work environment by providing an excellent opportunity to gain practical work experience in our integrated aviation environment; duties assigned may vary widely depending on the department needs.

The one year fellowship provides an excellent opportunity for veterans with great initiative. Selected veterans will gain practical work experience in our integrated aviation environment. Our program offers an array of valuable growth opportunities:

  1. Hands on work experience 

  2. Heighten understanding of the aviation industry's diverse facets 

  3. Workshops with subject matter experts on: resume writing and interviewing skills, networking and building relationships, and corporate business practices. 

  4. Networking with the leadership team and fellow employees 

  5. Gaining perspective from team members who successfully transitioned from the military to the civilian workforce 


This role will work on a project to develop and enhance Facilities Management Department's electronic and hard copy document management, coordinate the transmittals, maintenance and retrieval of all construction documents and with FMD's technical library: analyze documents, implement an index/catalog and recommend improved policies and procedures.

Required Skills

Knowledge of: 

1. Document control of construction related documents (plan review, drawings, specifications, O&M manuals, etc.)

2. Records management.

3. Standard office management practices and procedures.

4. Computer and database applications used in document management programs.

Required Experience

1. A minimum of three (3) years of active duty or mobilized reserve duty service.
2. Documentation of an honorable discharge(DD214) from active or reserve status within the last year*
3. Graduation from a four-year college or university.


*An exception will be made to the one year requirement listed above, for full-time students enrolled in a degree or certification program since honorable discharge; a transcript must be provided.
